Terms of Service

1. The service

Live Translate is a Chrome extension that translates the audio playing in a tab into captions and speech, using Google’s Gemini model. The model is in preview; features and quality may change.

2. Your account

You sign in with a Google account and are responsible for all activity on your account. Each person may use only one free-plan account.

3. Plans and translation minutes

• Each plan includes a number of translation minutes per month. Unused minutes do not roll over to the next month.
• Time is counted while a translation session is running, rounded to the second, and not while the connection is lost.
• If you run out of minutes mid-session, translation may continue until the next connection handover and then stops. This overage is not charged and is not deducted from the next period.
• Yearly plans have their minutes renewed every month.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use the service to break the law, infringe the rights of others, or interfere with how the system measures usage time. Accounts in violation may be suspended.

5. Accuracy

Translations are machine-generated and may be wrong, especially when the audio is unclear, mixes several languages or contains specialist terminology. Do not rely solely on translations for legal, medical or financial decisions.

6. Payment

Payments are processed by Paddle.com, the merchant of record for all transactions. Paddle’s terms of purchase apply to payments.
